Through selections from all nine symphonies, the Lawrenceville Symphony Orchestra follows Beethoven’s journey from Classical tradition to bold innovation, profound introspection, and monumental triumph.

Concert Program: The Journey
Rather than presenting a single symphony in isolation, this program reveals Beethoven’s symphonic language as an unfolding story. Beginning with the elegance and energy of his early works, the concert moves through moments of heroism, humor, reflection, nature, and spiritual grandeur before arriving at the blazing conclusion of the Fifth Symphony. Heard together, these movements illuminate how Beethoven continually expanded what a symphony could express.

About Beethoven
Ludwig van Beethoven (1770–1827) stood at the crossroads of the Classical and Romantic eras, transforming the symphony into a deeply personal and dramatic form of expression.
