FRIENDS OF THE SYMPHONY: The Fifth Section
Every orchestra has four sections: Strings, Woodwinds, Brass, Percussion. LSO has a fifth section. Our audience, our supporters, our volunteers: our community.
Our Fifth Section includes two groups of proud supporters: the Giving Circle, whose generosity sustains the orchestra, and the Volunteer Corps, who contribute their time and talents. Your path as a supporter may be through one or both.

Why Giving Matters
Ticket sales help support LSO, but they do not cover the full cost of presenting a professional orchestra. Donor support helps bridge that gap and sustains the musicians, performances, and programs that bring our music to the community

Volunteer Corps
GIVE YOUR TIME & TALENTS
The Volunteer Corps is the service branch of The Fifth Section. Members help LSO grow its audience, strengthen events, support musicians and guests, and expand our presence throughout the community.
Ways to Get Involved
MARKETING & PROMOTION
Share performances, distribute materials, contribute photos or content, and help spread the word.
SKILLS & SPECIAL PROJECTS
Have a skill you’d like to share? We are currently especially seeking volunteer photographers, as well as help with technology, writing, research, design, administration, and other special projects.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Represent LSO around Lawrenceville and help connect the orchestra with new audiences and community partners.
HOSPITALITY
Help welcome musicians, guest artists, donors, and community members at concerts and special events.
DONOR & MEMBER ENGAGEMENT
Support appreciation events, member communications, stewardship, and Fifth Section activities.
CONCERT SUPPORT
Welcome audiences, assist with programs and seating, staff tables, and help with setup.
